Nantucket Attractions Are A Stroll Away

World-class dining and shopping have earned Nantucket the honor of being named the #1 Island in the World by National Geographic. While there are enough Nantucket attractions and seasonal events to keep those island getaways fresh for a lifetime, some acclaimed restaurants, specialty shops, and pristine beaches belong at the top of every itinerary. Dive into some of our favorite acclaimed Nantucket attractions, all within walking distance of our Centre Street doors.

Clams served at a Nantucket MA restaurantFor The Foodie

Our island’s palate-pleasing plates range from succulent seafood to juicy ribeyes, and take it from us — nothing complements those tastes like a harbor view. Sink your fork into seared scallops on the water at Slip 14 or sit down for raw bar fare at Cru Oyster Bar. For the utmost convenience, step outside your door to Centre Street Bistro or Blue Cup, each located in our very own Meeting House.

If you can’t choose between all of these delectable island delicacies, you can always taste test a plethora of fresh island flavors at the biannual Nantucket Restaurant Week during the fall or spring.

For The Shopaholic

If you don’t grab a miniature lighthouse or a whale wall-hanging to bring home, did you actually go to Nantucket? Stock up on nautical knick-knacks for the family at Nantucket Boat Basin Authentic Shop or pick up a pair of classic Nantucket reds and an “ACK-style” hoodie at Nantucket Brand.

Of course, the Nantucket shopping scene doesn’t stop at maritime gifts. From artisan chocolates at Sweet Inspirations to authentic sailor’s handiwork at Nantucket Knotworks, our array of boutique stores offer fresh finds on every island visit.

For The Ocean Lover

Are you one to swoon at the sight of sandy shores? If so, you’re headed for the right place. Enjoy calm waters and pleasant harbor views at nearby Francis Street Beach, Children’s Beach, or Brant Point (a lighthouse lover’s dream). You can easily find more shores to explore on every side of our island by using the Nantucket beach map.

We have towels at the ready for all of our beach-going guests. Just ask our front desk!

For The Explorer

Sankaty Head Light, a Nantucket attraction

Even with door-to-door Nantucket attractions in the heart of downtown, public transit makes exploring the rest of the island a breeze, too. Nantucket’s main transportation authority, the WAVE, can get you to popular out-of-town spots like Cisco Brewery, the historic Sankaty Head Light, and exploratory nature trails and preserves (hop on a bus tour to hit all the hotspots in one swing). For cyclists, feeling that island breeze is as easy as picking up a bike rental and exploring Nantucket’s many miles of coastal bike paths.
